DIY: Home remedies for dry skin

Hello Everyone,

My skin acts weird at times. In winters it tends to get dry and in order to prevent the dryness I use some home remedies. So, I thought of sharing it with you all since the winters are approaching and you may find these remedies useful.

Almond oil is the best home remedy for dry skin in winter. Almond oil is rich in vitamin E and is known to be the finest lubricator for dry skin. Take some warm pure almond oil and apply it all over the body. Leave it for 30 and later take shower.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is a miracle plant in real sense. It works wonders for dry skin. It contains vitamin C and E which help in diminishing fine lines and wrinkles on the face developed due to aging. It also has amazing moisturizing ability. This face pack will help moisturize dry and aged skin. Crush few almonds and mix them with aloe vera gel and make a paste. Apply this face pack on the face and neck and rinse off your face after 15 minutes.

Olive Oil

Olive oil includes vitamin A and E which act as vital antioxidants wherein vitamin A helps to thicken and stimulate the dermis while vitamin E helps neutralizing the oxidant free of radicals which damage the collagen and lead to wrinkles and fine lines making the skin dry. Add 1tsp brown sugar to olive oil and apply this paste on dry skin. After 15 minutes rinse off with water.

Oatmeal

Oatmeal contains polysaccharides that help in reducing dull, flaky and dry skin. Oatmeal is known to address symptoms such as itchiness, scales, peeling and rashes. It also works as a natural skin exfoliator and helps remove dead cells while adding glow to the skin. Add a mashed banana and little warm milk to 1 cup of ground oatmeal. Apply this to your face and rinse off after 10-15 minutes.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil contains vitamin E and saturated fats which are known to moisturize the skin keeping it healthy and glowing. It can be used as an exfoliant to remove dead skin and clean out the dirt and impurities which block the pores. It is used to treat several skin disorders such as psoriasis, acne and eczema. Apply coconut oil all over the body before going to bed and rinse it off with water in the morning.
