In this desire we normally look for ready to use options and in this process we end up trying every other product available in the market. But do we realise that the harsh chemicals and bleach in the products may give an instant glow to your face and would also cause far reaching negative effects to the skin in the long run, especially for those with sensitive?
On the other hand homemade face masks can be prepared using natural ingredients that are easily available in your kitchen. These are lot more cheaper and also do not have any side-effects. These face masks will not only provide glow to your face but also improve your skin health.
Today I will be sharing 5 simple face masks that you can use to have a naturally glowing skin.
Face Masks for glowing skin
Honey & Lemon Juice Face Mask
Honey acts as an amazing natural ingredient that fights acne and pimples. It contains numerous beneficial compounds and acts as an antibacterial, antioxidant and antihistamine that help reducing the redness and irritation on the skin. It makes the skin soft and improves skin complexion. Lemon juice on the other hand acts as a natural astringent that closes the skin pores and prevents excessive sebum production.
Take 1 tbsp honey and 1 tbsp lemon juice. Mix the two and apply this on your face and leave it for about 30 minutes. Rinse it with cold water and pat dry your face. This will also de-tan your face. Yay!!! 🙂
Oatmeal & Yogurt Face Mask
Oatmeal is very well known for its health benefits but little do we know about its beauty benefits. It acts as a natural exfoliant that absorbs excessive oil while eliminating dead cells and impurities. It helps in eradicating toxins and gently cleans the clogged pores. Yogurt is rich in good bacteria. It softens and tightens the skin while improving its complexion. It purifies, hydrates and moisturizes the skin.
Mix 2 tbsp of oatmeal and 2 tbsp yogurt. Apply this face mask and rinse it off with cold water after 20 minutes. This helps in deep cleansing the face and also getting rid of the dead skin.
Banana & Almond Oil Face Mask
This is the most cost effective face mask. Banana is a rich source of Vitamin C and it aids in improving the production of collage in the skin that helps in maintaining the elasticity and suppleness of the skin thus improving the skin complexion. On the other hand almonds are a rich source of Vitamins C, A and E that act as effective natural anti-oxidants for improving the skin health. It is a miraculous deep nourishing moisturizer that also has anti-inflammatory properties that soothes the skin from any skin infections/allergies. It also reduces dark circles under the eyes if applied regularly.
Take one ripe banana and mash it to form a smooth paste. Add 1 tbsp almond oil to it and mix well. Apply it on the face and leave it for 20 minutes. Rinse it off with normal water.
Tomato & Cucumber Face Mask
Tomatoes have antioxidant properties lycopene present in them, these act as a natural sunscreen that soothes and protects the skin from sunburn. It reduces the pores and controls excessive sebum production. Cucumber acts as an effective natural remedy that helps in eliminating pigmentation, blemishes and scars. It improves the skin complexion and also helps in reducing cellulite and lightening dark circles under the eyes.
Mash a tomato to form a smooth paste and mix it with ½ grated cucumber. Apply this face mask and let it stay on 20 minutes. Rinse it off with water.
Strawberry & Raw Milk Face Mask
Strawberries… aren’t they so yummy?? But these delicious strawberries can also be used to improve the skin complexion and add youthful glow to the skin. The ellagic acid in the strawberries is extremely effective in treating acne/pimple scars and blemishes. It also reduces the skin damage caused by pollution and also heals sunburns. They are also a rich source of Vitamin C and folic acid that helps in improving production of collagen and regeneration of new skin cells. Raw Milk is a rich source of Vitamin B. It contains hydroxy acids (AHA), that are used in skincare to reduce wrinkles, signs of aging and improving overall skin texture. It exfoliates the outermost layer of the skin leaving it blemish free and super soft.
Mix few mashed ripe strawberries to form a smooth paste and add a tbsp. of milk to it. Apply this face mask and let it stay for 20 minutes and rinse it off with water.
