Benefits of Shea Butter and Rice wax

Shea butter is natural fatty oil extracted from the karite nut also known as African shea tree. It is extremely moisturising and is used in healing dry, chapped and aging lips. It has inflammatory properties while protecting the lips from sun burn. It also includes antioxidants such as Vitamin A and Vitamin E that helps in protection of lips from free radical damage which cause premature aging and lining of the lips.

Rice bran wax is used as a thickener, binding, coating and gelling agent. It gives the lip butter/balm silky and non-tacky feel.

My thoughts about the product

I am sure each one of us knows the importance of lip balm in our life. It acts as a Holy Grail product. So, I wanted to give this a try and bought it from an international website along with few other products. I was too excited about it as I found that many beauties like you loved this product. Now, it is one of my favourite lip products. To understand why I love it so much please continue reading. 🙂

I am glad that I purchased it. This lip butter is very moisturising as it claims; it provides instant hydration and leaves the lips feeling amazingly soft. It has a sweet subtle smell. It is organic lip butter free from parabens, silicone and other harmful products. It is available in many variants such as Quince, Guava, Mango, Jasmine, Wild rose and Pomegranate. I picked up pomegranate because I read some good reviews about it and also I always love wearing light pink tint of colour on my lips when it comes to lip butters/balms.

Korres lip butter comes in a white colour plastic pot with pink lid (dependent on colour of the variant) which closes tightly. The packaging is small and sturdy and can be stored in the handbag easily. To the eye it is pleasing and looks very cute, but one thing that I don’t like about this product is that you need to dip your finger in the pot to get some product which is not hygienic. You can always use a brush but let’s be honest; I don’t think you would prefer using a brush for applying lip butter. It can be much worse if you have long nails. Eww!!

Korres Pomegranate lip butter has a sheer pinkish coral shade. Very little amount of this lip butter and you would be good to go. It stays on my lips for 3-4 hours without eating or drinking and after that leaves a very pale pinkish stain on my lips else it lasts 2 hours. All in all it is a great product. I love it!!!

Yes, I would recommend it. It is very moisturising and makes the lips soft and prevents it from getting chapped. It is a dermatologically tested. But, as I mentioned before the only thing that I don’t like about this lip butter is that you need to use your fingers to get the product.
